Pro Bowl CB reminisces on Super Bowl memories after Dolphins' big addition

Dolphins Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey is reuniting with Odell Beckham Jr. 27 months after the pair helped lead the Los Angeles Rams to a victory in Super Bowl LVI.

The Dolphins added the three-time Pro Bowl wideout on Friday, agreeing to a one-year contract worth $3M. The deal includes incentives that could push its value up to $8.25M.

Ramsey, who was traded to Miami last March, took to social media to celebrate after the OBJ news was reported.

Beckham Jr. has been connected to the Dolphins all offseason.

General manager Chris Grier said in mid-April that the team had recently made an offer to the 31-year-old, but the two sides weren't close to a deal.

Beckham Jr. will join a top-heavy wide receivers' room in South Beach, headed by All-Pro Tyreek Hill and star sidekick Jaylen Waddle. The duo combined for 191 receptions for 2,813 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2023, but aside from them, no other wide receiver reached 30 catches or 300 receiving yards.

The former AP Offensive Rookie of the Year signed a one-year, $15M deal with the Baltimore Ravens last April and was released in mid-March. Beckham Jr. finished his lone season with two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson with 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns on 64 targets. Beckham Jr. missed three games and his 2.5 receptions per contest were the lowest of his career.

The LSU product's trio of touchdowns also tied for the fewest in his nine seasons, and his 40.4 yards per contest were the second lowest. Beckham Jr. still busted out occasionally, as his 16.1 yards per catch were the highest of his career.

With plenty of firepower on signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa's offense aside from Hill and Waddle — including running backs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane — there shouldn't be too much pressure on OBJ in 2024. If he can give the Dolphins just a bit more than what he produced in Baltimore, Miami will have yet another weapon.
